Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for accounting support services to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the Troika Accounting Team. This position is ideal for a results-driven individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for finance in the real estate development and construction sector. Key Responsibilities: 1. Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee the approval and coding of AP invoices and employee expense reports. Process vendor EFT and cheque payments. Act as the primary point of contact for vendor payment inquiries, ensuring timely communication and adherence to company policies. Oversight of vendor records, including resolving discrepancies and maintenance of EFT details on file. 2. Accounts Receivable (AR): Add and maintain customers in our accounting system. Receive and record payments, and handle customer inquiries related to billing. Management of AR aging and follow up on outstanding accounts. 3. Month-End Close Support: Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries (accruals, prepayments, adjustments & fixed asset), reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate cutoffs. Accurately prepare and file GST returns in compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines. File various accounting related documents including invoices and receipts and make filed documents available when requested from team members. 4. Bank and Balance Sheet & Intercompany Reconciliations: Perform various bank, credit card and other balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare related journal entries. 5. Financial Reporting & Year-End Support: Support the accounting team in audits, year-end preparations, and special projects. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; Ensure that all documentation is organized to facilitate an efficient process.
