Safety Co-op (Winter 2026) - Kiewit Nuclear Canada - Bowmanville, ON Requisition ID: 177660 Job Level: Internship Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Department: Field Operations Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Temporary Overview The Safety Co-op is a highly motivated self-starter who will assist in various areas of our project. This is a 4-month work term. The assignment will be located on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Responsibilities Operational support and resources for the EHS team Assist with input and completion of project Accident/Incident reports and ensure they are submitted, filed, forwarded, and tracked as per the EHS program Follow up on corrective action on incident and accident reporting as requested Aid in coordinating and delivering site Employee Safety Meetings Upload safety documentation into assigned files and maintain accessibility for auditing Assist in generating and improving reporting Involvement with Field Behavioral Based Observations (BBOs) Assist EHS personnel with field level walk downs and site inspections Follow up on workplace inspections Contribute to safety innovations on site Assist with administrative tasks for site orientation Coordinate distribution of PPE supplies when required Participate in EHS program improvements Provide regular feedback to the Safety Manager on activities, submission status of BBOs, site inspections, etc., to identify improvement opportunities Assist in startup for new work areas or projects, including providing necessary templates and documentation for reporting and program maintenance Assist all new advisors and supervisors in complying with reporting and tracking processes Qualifications Currently enrolled in a university or college degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook Knowledge of construction site safety requirements and/or provincial legislation is an asset Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing reports Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Self-motivated with ability to work effectively with minimal direction Good organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment Collaborative team approach and ability to build relationships with clients and project teams Valid G license is required Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and others, individually or in a team Perform work safely and follow oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment use, and policies Work during normal hours and be prepared for overtime and weekend work as required May work at various locations with varying conditions Benefits We offer our full-time staff a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.
