Overview Production Planner (12-month contract) at Saputo Inc. The position is a 12-month contract within the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) group. The role involves planning, sequencing, and adjusting daily and weekly production schedules to ensure smooth and efficient operations, ensuring product availability, managing inventory, and balancing production goals with facility constraints. This is a highly interactive role requiring effective facilitation of inter-department collaboration, analysis, and problem solving within Saputo's supply chain. Salary Salary: 66,960 to 87,890 per year. Salary offers vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training. Responsibilities Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules that align with demand, inventory levels and resource availability. Sequence production tasks for maximum efficiency and minimal downtime, considering plant constraints (such as equipment capacity, labor and raw material availability). Continuously monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on real-time data and variances from performance. Identify opportunities to increase productivity and reduce waste. Collaborate with production, inventory control and quality assurance teams to align schedules with materials, labor and quality standards. Track key performance indicators such as throughput, cycle times, downtime, and attainment to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management regarding production progress and issues. Participate in interdepartmental projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications University degree in Supply Chain or a related field. 3 years experience in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Inventory Management; experience in the food industry is an asset. SAP experience is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Strong verbal and written communication skills; solid team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities.
