Job Description

Overview Skilled Trade - Electrician - Oakville, ON at Ford Motor Company. Electrician Journeypersons are paid a top hourly base rate of $53.00 plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. At Fords Oakville Assembly Complex, we are expanding and retooling our vehicle operations and shaping the future of vehicle manufacturing in Canada. Responsibilities Adhere to all health and safety rules in compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards Maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner Assist other trades/operators as required Participate in the training of electrical apprentices as required Participate in problem-solving meetings to help eliminate downtime Coordinate die repair and preventative maintenance scheduling to meet job deadlines Generate and implement cost savings and process improvement suggestions Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Must have completed a recognized apprenticeship and hold a Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) 309A / 442A (if a Certificate of Apprenticeship has not been attained, applicants with 8 years of experience in the trade after receiving the CofQ will be considered) Must be able to work all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights) on a rotating schedule Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge with PLCs (e.g., Allen Bradley, RSLogix 5000, Square D, Control Logix) servo controls and variable frequency drives (e.g., Rockwell Powerflex) Proficient in reading electrical blueprints and ladder logic prints; knowledge of Ethernet, DH+, and RS Links/Logics Strong computer skills Experience in industrial controls, conveyance systems, sub-stations, motor control centers, power distribution panels, electrical starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs) Experience with computerized maintenance management systems Experience in a multi-disciplined fast-paced environment where Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment (SQDCPME) are the focus Troubleshooting electrical and robotic systems and equipment (e.g., Fanuc, Kawasaki, ABB, Siemens) Additional Information Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
