Job Summary The Maintenance Manager at Jasper Inn & Suites is responsible for maintaining our high standards of quality, managing maintenance personnel, and planning renovation and repair projects. The role requires organization, proactivity, and familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure the hotel premises are safe and functional for guests and employees. Job Responsibilities Contribute to ongoing maintenance of hotel properties and grounds, upholding high quality standards. Arrange routine maintenance in hotel rooms, restaurants, meeting rooms, lobbies, and facilities. Inspect the hotel to ensure safety and compliance with codes and regulations; operate pools safely. Maintain facilities according to the most recent codes and regulations; assign repair schedules and evaluate cost estimates. Tender and manage outside contractors; ensure parts and supplies are on hand. Respond quickly to emergencies and train staff accordingly; find ways to reduce operating costs and conserve energy. Maintain overall repair of hotel rooms, facilities, furnishings, and fixtures; repair heating, ventilation, and related systems. Maintain safe and environmentally sound work practices; oversee grounds maintenance, landscaping in summer, and snow/ice removal in winter. Lead the maintenance team: recruitment, scheduling, training, performance management, recognition, coaching, and support. Communicate effectively with all departments; collaborate to serve guests best interests. Contribute to hotel preparedness during fire and safety emergencies; perform other related duties as requested by Senior Management. Qualifications Proven leadership experience; Hotel Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor experience is an asset. In-depth knowledge of health and safety codes and regulations; ability to read blueprints. Familiarity with building controls and automation systems; experience with commercial pool facilities and kitchen equipment. Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; experience in administrative processes (budgeting, payroll, performance management). Proficient with computers, CMMS, Office and DDC programs; ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly. Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; customer-service oriented. Ability to lift 5075 lbs and be in good physical condition. Certifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or equivalent experience. Valid WHMIS certificate (asset); Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract; Pool Operator Certificate.
