Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking and has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Sales Representative , servicing client in/around our Fort McMurray, AB location. In this relationship-based sales role you will report to the General Manager and will assist in maintaining commitments as we expand. You will grow your territory (and your earnings!) by bringing in new business and developing repeat business relationships within your existing accounts. This will require that you call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others to determine their needs through a consultative approach to help clients achieve superior performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for: New business development as well as maintaining existing territory. Prospecting for new customers, setting appointments and demonstrating product benefits. Developing strategic relationships with customers to identify and leverage the customers business goals, growth strategies, and profit drivers and deliver the appropriate value proposition strategy. Working with management to develop sales strategies and new business prospects. Responding to customer product inquiries. Engaging in direct sales activities. Promoting existing and new products. Anticipating client direction and objectives. Managing a robust sales territory. Maintaining cooperative and productive team relationships. Attending training and sales meetings as required. Meeting or exceeding sales targets. Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications: Mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial type sales. Sales and service oriented. Professional conduct. Good organizational skills. Ability to prospect for new clients. Ability to utilize technology to source and find components and information. Maintaining customer relations and building new relationships. Analytical and problem-solving capability. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
