Your resume should show us: Recent graduation from a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Design Technology and/or Civil Design and Drafting Technology Willing to be trained to support various transportation planning, engineering projects Knowledge of transportation / traffic engineering analysis software Resourceful with the ability to conduct research and take interest in industry scans Ability to work independently or as part of a team Registration with a regulatory body such as ASET or APEGA as a T.T., C.E.T., P.Tech. (Eng.), P.Eng., or P.L.Eng. A Little More About the Role Working independently and as part of a team, no day will look the same as you: Provide support on transportation planning, traffic engineering, and road safety studies and reports Complete transportation analyses using industry-standard tools, methodologies, and guidelines Prepare conceptual design drawings for transportation improvements across all modes Organize and conduct site visits and traffic surveys Data collection and analysis related to transportation projects Analyze traffic patterns and congestion, using engineering principles to identify improvement areas. Improve intersection efficiency by adjusting signal timings to reduce delays. Evaluate how new developments affect traffic and suggest mitigation strategies. Gather and analyze traffic data to inform decision-making and system improvements. Design and implement traffic signs and markings to improve safety and guide drivers. Propose and implement measures like speed adjustments and pedestrian improvements for road safety. Assist in planning transportation projects by providing data and insights. Engage with the community to gather feedback and ensure public involvement in traffic planning. Work with engineers to develop solutions to traffic challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team. Oversee traffic-related projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious completion and coordination with stakeholders. Plan temporary traffic controls for construction or events to minimize disruptions and ensure safety. Ensure all traffic management practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
