For more information, visit What we are looking for We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analytics Analyst to join the Gearbox Finance team. This role goes beyond traditional FP&A: we are looking for someone with strong financial acumen, deep comfort with data and data processing, and the ability to leverage analytics to drive better decision-making across Gearbox. You will partner closely with Production, HR, and other business leaders to forecast, analyze, and report on key financial and operational metrics. This role is essential to ensure profitability targets are met, headcount is accurately managed, and strategic decisions are supported by robust financial insights. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Build, maintain, and enhance financial models that support quarterly reforecasts, annual business planning, and long-range scenario analysis. Track and analyze actuals vs. forecast for headcount, indirect costs, and project-related spend; identify drivers of variance and recommend corrective actions. Prepare scenario-based cost simulations and provide recommendations to support production and strategic decisions. Partner with the Finance Director on month-end close activities, consolidations, and reporting. Business Partnering & Reporting Collaborate with Production and HR to ensure accurate staffing plans, headcount forecasts, and time allocation reporting. Provide actionable insights and cost reports to local managers, acting as the primary point of contact for budget-related inquiries. Support cross-BU cost allocations and rebills where necessary. Operational Finance & Controls Lead the timesheet management process, ensuring accurate recording, approvals, and system compliance. Review vendor onboarding documents, invoices, and purchase classifications to ensure accuracy, policy alignment, and timely payments. Monitor AP aging to ensure vendor payments remain current; investigate and resolve delays. Liaise with external accountants on reclasses and accounting issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; strong working knowledge of PowerPoint. Experience with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); ERP experience with JDE is a strong plus. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly present financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders. Fluent in English, both speaking and writing. Prior experience in the video game or entertainment industry is preferred but not required.
