Fraser Crossing Partners is the entity selected by the Province of British Columbia to design, build and partially finance the project. It is a 50/50 joint venture between Aecon and Acciona. The project includes a four-lane cable-stayed bridge over the Fraser River, connecting New Westminster and Surrey, with dedicated walking and cycling lanes and supporting road infrastructure. What You'll Do Here The Payroll Administrator/Office Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of unionized craft employee timesheets and day-to-day payroll administration. The incumbent will support the daily activities of the project office, mainly working out of the Agnes St. office in New Westminster, BC, with occasional site visits. Develop an understanding of the CBA (Community Benefits Agreement), including wage classifications, union benefits, and worker entitlement to allowances. Act as an administrator for the electronic timecard system (HeavyJob). Provide training to foremen, superintendents and project engineers on HeavyJob, including troubleshooting. Coordinate timecard approvals and corrections with superintendents and foremen. Submit daily timecards via the BCIB contractor portal in a timely and accurate manner. Receive and validate the daily payable time report; crosscheck hours, premiums and allowances against the BCIB agreement. Coordinate new employee request forms and termination forms; assist with validation of biweekly payroll invoices. Provide accurate details for quarterly WorkSafeBC submittals; maintain tracking spreadsheets for cost reconciliation. Work with project and cost controls to generate labour/productivity reports; participate in coordination meetings with operations team and BCIB. Advise the project team on payroll practices and optimization of shift schedules under the collective agreement; resolve payroll and invoicing discrepancies. Collaborate with Human Resources / Labour Relations and Finance; build relationships across the project team, client, and stakeholders. Support audits related to payroll; provide administrative support and general clerical duties; coordinate office administration matters and IT needs as required. Maintain office budget and assist with cost trends and forecasting; basic IT tasks related to workstations, printers, and video-conferencing devices. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years experience in payroll administration with a large headcount; construction environment experience is preferred. Experience with unions and reading/interpretation of collective agreements; knowledge of payroll principles and legislation. Post-secondary education related to payroll; proficiency with payroll software and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Working knowledge of electronic timecard software (HeavyJob) is an asset. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities. Collaborative working style; ability to handle sensitive information professionally. Flexible to work on a construction project site when required; not a hybrid WFH role.
