Job Description The Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting other technicians, performing maintenance, and routine services on grounds and non-technical facility components. The role involves following established processes, complying with safety and environmental standards, and supporting maintenance activities. Contract dates: May-August 2025 Work arrangement: 100% on-site in Ottawa/Gatineau Key Duties & Responsibilities Perform work according to established processes and practices. Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, fire protection standards. Monitor and inspect facility and grounds regularly. Report conditions, deficiencies, and suggest improvements. Respond to service requests, perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Operate mechanical, electrical, and other systems. Manage work orders from dispatch to completion, record data accurately. Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs. Client Relations Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service. Administration Record data, monitor work status, and ensure quality standards. Participate in facility projects and ensure compliance with policies. Maintain tools and submit expenditures timely. Knowledge & Skills Adhere to facility operations and maintenance processes. Observe and report facility conditions. Learn and apply fire, safety, and building codes. Maintain a safety mindset and client service orientation. Communicate effectively and be flexible with work hours. Wear personal protective equipment and meet security requirements. Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation Interest or enrollment in trades certification or licensing.
