Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for sales, strategy, and community impact? Cayuga Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Sales Team Manager to lead and inspire our team of licensed agents and future customer service representatives. Reporting directly to the COO, this is a key leadership role that will directly shape our sales operations and customer experience while playing a vital role in company-wide growth. In this position, youll lead a high-performing team, implement strategic initiatives, and develop innovative products and services that position Cayuga Mutual as a trusted leader in the P&C insurance industry. Youll also work collaboratively across departments, contribute to brand and marketing initiatives, and represent Cayuga within the community. Office/Remote Mix (ideally 3 days in office/week post probation period) Reports To Chief Operating Officer (COO) Cayuga Mutual Insurance Company is a policyholder-owned mutual insurer rooted in community values. With over 30 employees and a dedicated sales team, we underwrite approximately $14 million in gross written premium across commercial, farm, residential, and auto lines. Requirements Key responsibilities Lead, motivate, and support a high-performing team of sales agents and support staff. Set and negotiate annual sales targets and performance standards in collaboration with team members. Coach agents in prospecting, relationship-building, and leveraging their unique strengths. Monitor and optimize departmental performance through performance standards, data-driven insights, and feedback loops. Recommend and manage agent compensation plans and promotional budgets. Stay current on industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive advantage. Foster strong relationships with internal departments, the board, policyholders, and the community. Support the execution of integrated marketing and brand awareness campaigns across digital and traditional platforms. Support efforts to strengthen Cayuga Mutuals brand presence and community profile through marketing initiatives and local engagement. What you Bring Degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred. Strong understanding of sales principles, marketing strategy, and customer experience. Proven experience in sales leadership (within the P&C insurance industry preferred). Demonstrated a data-informed approach to decision-making, leveraging relevant metrics and insights. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and budgets effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools. Ideally possess a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or is actively working toward it. Licensing as an insurance agent or broker is considered an advantage.
