READY TO LAUNCH? Are you interested in joining the finance team of one of the most exciting space companies at the forefront of global change detection and monitoring? We are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant responsible for day-to-day accounting transactions. This is a Vancouver-based hybrid role, requiring some in-office work. Candidates must be available during business hours (9 am-5:30 pm, Monday-Friday). Occasional overtime may be necessary. PREPARE FOR IMPACT! Reporting to the Finance Manager and collaborating closely with the finance team, the Senior Corporate Accountant will handle daily accounting tasks, maintain the general ledger, process month-ends, and support the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background with full-cycle supervisory experience in a multi-currency, multi-entity environment. They should be adept at working with finance, sales, and customer service teams, reviewing work by Accounting Technicians, managing accounts payable and receivable, and liaising with external auditors and tax advisors. Responsibilities include: General Ledger/Day-to-Day Accounting Maintain the general ledger for the parent company and subsidiaries. Review work by Accounting Technicians, including journal entries, working papers, and reconciliations. Prepare month-end working papers and reconciliations. Manage the capital asset sub-ledger and record depreciation monthly. Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversee accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Review credit card statements and expense reports. Reconcile accounts receivable and payable, and review billing and revenue reconciliation. Prepare and review customer invoices, ensuring seamless communication across teams. Financial Reporting/Month-end Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile accounts. Process month-end close activities, including FX translation and consolidations. Prepare various working papers, reconciliations, and financial statements. Quarterly and Year-end Corporate Reporting Assist with financial statement disclosures and audit preparations. Lead year-end audit requests and assist with FS notes preparation. Tax/Regulatory Filings Assist with corporate tax returns and external tax advisor support. Prepare GST/PST/US sales tax returns and other filings. Prepare year-end tax notes and disclosures. Payroll & Bonus Review and prepare payroll journal entries. Ensure sufficient funds for payroll and benefits, collaborating with Humi on accruals. Other Support Assist with process improvements and coding accuracy. Support and guide Accounting Technicians. Participate in new software implementations and other duties as assigned. YOUR PAST MISSIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional accounting designation (or final stage) or equivalent experience. 5+ years of full-cycle accounting or supervisory experience, preferably in high-tech. Experience with ERPs (NetSuite preferred), QBO, Tipalti, Maxio is an asset. Experience handling multiple currencies and multi-entity environments. YOUR TOOLKIT Strong technical accounting skills in US GAAP and research abilities. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Analytical, problem-solving, and initiative-taking abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. YOUR COMPENSATION Base Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 CAD annually. Compensation depends on skills, experience, training, education, location, and needs. Typically, hires are made within this range, with exceptions for highly experienced candidates.
