Job Description GHD has a great opportunity for a Senior Environmental Remediation Design Engineer in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role, specializing in contaminated sites to support our North American team. Our team, based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, focuses on environmental assessments, risk assessments, risk management planning, and remedial design for clients across Canada and the US. We are committed to providing an exceptional client experience and supporting career growth. Responsibilities include: Supporting strategic pursuits, especially for federal and private industrial clients. Providing senior leadership and mentorship on environmental remediation projects. Working within multidisciplinary teams, offering environmental advice. Staying current with innovative remediation methodologies. Managing design projects, including teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables. Developing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and specifications. Participating in local, national, and global projects, with some travel. Mentoring junior team members. Conducting needs assessments and identifying emerging issues. Driving innovation and continuous improvement in business practices. Designing engineering solutions and validating their effectiveness. Drafting engineering standards and evaluating their effectiveness. Sharing knowledge through policies, best practices, and training. Monitoring health, safety, and environmental KPIs and taking corrective actions. Recommending technical developments to improve project quality. Providing professional supervision to support team development. Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses. Managing waste management activities. Overseeing project portfolios and client relationships. Education: Bachelor's in Civil or Environmental Engineering required. Master's degree or equivalent is an asset. Experience: Over 10-15 years of relevant experience. Supervisory experience of 1-3 years. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or the US; P.E. considered an asset. Experience with remediation strategies, investigations, designs, and construction support. Experience with Canadian and US environmental legislation is preferred. Excellent communication skills.
