Overview SPECIALTY EDUCATION, REGISTERED NURSE (RN), OPERATING ROOM We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join the Operating Room department at Ksyen Regional Hospital. The opportunity supports the Northern Health Regional Operating Room Education (RORE) program, which uses a standardized online curriculum to prepare nurses for perioperative care in scrub and circulating roles. Responsibilities Provide and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit in accordance with hospital policies and current standards of nursing practice. Participate in on-call responsibilities for emergency surgery and PACU assignments as required. Engage in the perioperative education program, including online components, skills lab, and clinical preceptorship to achieve competency in perioperative nursing care. Education / Training Program RORE uses AORN Perioperative 101 online curriculum plus hands-on components to prepare nurses for novice-level perioperative care. There are six training positions available for 2025/2026. Northern Health provides placement support and funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses for clinical placements, as required. Learners should expect a 46 month commitment for online and in-person learning, with additional study time outside scheduled hours as needed. Flexibility for practicums is necessary. Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department. Upon successful completion, an 18-month return of service in a regular nursing position in the applicable area is required. Start Date, Hours & Location Actual start date and hours of work vary as education is ongoing through 2025/2026. Shift rotation is Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00. Location: Ksyen Regional Hospital, Terrace, BC. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with eligibility to practice in British Columbia. Prior perioperative experience is preferred but not required for the education program. Ability to participate in a structured education program and complete required on-going study and practicum commitments.
