The role focuses on profitably growing sales in the assigned customer base and achieving assigned sales growth targets. It includes prospecting for new accounts and increasing core and cross-sell opportunities within existing customers. The position requires operating a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle, and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report and an acceptable MVR is a job requirement. Responsibilities Conduct business in the field through face-to-face interactions with potential and existing customers. Increase customer value through cross-selling. Collaborate with members of the sales organization and key Shared Service support personnel to execute sales growth initiatives. Forecast, prospect, and bid for new business to include customers, markets, and additional service opportunities. Develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels of an organization. Partner with customers, vendors, Credit, and A/R to quickly resolve customer service issues. Maintain a current and competent base of product knowledge and apply it when servicing customers. Maintain and submit all required sales administration reports and regularly attend company meetings. Nature and Scope Demonstrates skill in data analysis by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies in more complex research/data. Work typically increases independence; guidance is provided on unusual or complex problems. Work reviews are periodic by a supervisor and/or direct customers. May provide general guidance or training to junior-level support or professional personnel. Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable. Predominantly sedentary with opportunities to move; occasional light lifting may be required. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA with 2-4 years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Miller Heimans Strategic Selling and Large Account Management Process concepts.
