About The Role The Engineering and QC Co-op Student position offers practical experience for students pursuing careers in infrastructure construction or related fields. Working with the Engineering and Quality Control team, the student will assist in producing high-quality precast concrete products through data collection, analysis, and standard testing. The role provides hands-on experience with QCast, ASTM, CSA, and ACI standards, with applications in infrastructure projects across British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest. Operating with some independence and reporting to engineering staff, the student will gain industry knowledge, apply design specifications, and develop skills that build confidence and prepare them for future engineering careers. Address: 41893 Cannor Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2R 0B6 What Youll Accomplish Prepare, revise, and maintain standard QC packages for customers, including material certifications, compression reports, temperature graphs, technical data sheets, and mix design documentation. Perform daily compression and density strength reporting, including data collection, review, and digital filing. Operate and maintain Maturix temperature monitoring systems, including locating boxes from previous casts, setting up new units, reviewing casts online, and ensuring compliance with specifications. Conduct and document inspections of lined products (e.g., pipe, manholes, bases). Conduct site visits and provide onsite documentation for non-conformance reports (NCRs), repairs, and project-specific inspections as required. Create and maintain test reports for various procedures, including SCC testing, ladder rung testing, prototype packages, and special tests requested by customers. Calculate and report water-to-cement ratios by gathering burn-off results, batch data, and generating summary reports. Support Engineering team with general tasks such as pouring marketing and demonstration samples, basic design calculations, revision of standard drawings, measuring product forms, etc. Develop and update pre-pour and post-pour inspection sheets from CAD drawings, Excel sheets and PDF documents to support QC productivity, organization, and record-keeping. Measure pallets, headers, and joint formers to maintain compliance with QCast standards. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. What Were Looking For Education: Grade 12 completion, high school graduation. Enrollment in a formal University sponsored Engineering Co-op Student program. Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Excel and Word.
