Headquartered in Toronto, with regional offices globally. Job Summary Responsible for ensuring the continued safe operation of electrical systems and equipment. Carries out electrical repairs, calibration and maintenance for all facilities. Job Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate, alter / modify and install electrical power distribution systems in a professional and timely fashion as required. Calibrate production and facility instruments. Troubleshoot, maintain, adjust, repair, calibrate or install electrical equipment with complex interlocking or inter-related circuits (e.g., PLCs, generators, transformers, switchgear, controllers, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems or other transmission equipment). Use various test instruments to diagnose problems, determine electrical load and power quality. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate, alter / modify pneumatic control systems. Compile and maintain information and documentation relevant to building systems (CMMS, log books, change control, updated drawings, files, etc.). Work with users, other facilities staff and vendors to provide electrical expertise and evaluate system effectiveness to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation and continuous improvement. Arrange for contracted services as required and supervise all work on electrical systems and equipment. Determine impact of work and communicate with department management and customers to schedule activities to minimize production disruption. Ensure all electrical work is completed according to applicable codes. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications; locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment. Follow manufacturer manuals for tracing circuitry in equipment. Improvise acceptable temporary alterations to maintain safe operations. Utilize standard electricians' hand tools, measuring and testing instruments, conduit bender, power hacksaw, pipe-threader. Ensure all work complies with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and safety standards. Work as part of a team to achieve all outcomes. Perform all work in accordance with regulatory, compliance and safety requirements. Complete assigned Continuous Improvement projects within required timelines and present updates as requested. All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Grade 12 plus a current Ontario Industrial Electrician and/or Construction and Maintenance Electrician License. At least five years of electrical maintenance experience with instrumentation and control experience. Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation.
