Job Description

Overview The Apparel Fit Specialist supports the end-to-end product lifecycle, working closely with the Product Manager and Merchandising Manager to ensure apparel collections align with brand vision, market trends, and business objectives. This role bridges design, sourcing, and production by providing technical expertise on fabrics, garment construction, and quality standards, while ensuring collections are delivered on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality. Responsibilities Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Product Manager to translate product briefs into production-ready garments, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and seasonal direction. Collaborate with the Merchandising Manager to balance trend, cost, and customer demand when finalizing assortment plans. Act as the technical liaison between design, merchandising, and sourcing to streamline product development. Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of seasonal fabrics, trims, fit samples, and shipment samples. Ensure all library is accurately labeled and cataloged by season, style, vendor, and category for easy reference and cross-functional access. Product Development & Technical Support Review design concepts and provide input on fabric, trim, fit, and construction feasibility. Create, update, and review tech packs, ensuring accuracy and clarity for vendor execution. Conduct fit sessions and communicate adjustments to design, merchandising, and suppliers. Sourcing & Vendor Management Support the Merchandising Manager in identifying suppliers that meet cost, quality, and sustainability standards. Maintain strong relationships with vendors. Quality Assurance and Timelines Oversee sample development stages (proto, fit, SMS, PPS), ensuring garments meet brand standards. Troubleshoot issues in fit, quality, or production and escalate solutions to the team. Monitor critical path timelines to ensure collections are delivered on schedule. Qualifications and Skills Bachelors degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field. 3+ years of experience in technical design, product development, and sourcing Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, fabric performance, and quality standards. Proficiency with tech pack creation and technical sketches created in corresponding programs (Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM/ERP systems). Experience working with international vendors and knowledge of production cycles. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge creative and commercial priorities. Detail-oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple styles and timeline in a fast-paced, collaborative deadline-driven environment. Experience working in ladies wear apparel (additional experience with accessories, jewelry and footwear is strongly preferred). Knowledge of knitwear, wovens & outerwear is an asset.
