Faculty of Nursing BN, Wainwright Term 7 (Fall 2025) Join to apply for the Faculty of Nursing BN, Wainwright Term 7 (Fall 2025) role at University of Calgary Faculty of Nursing BN, Wainwright Term 7 (Fall 2025) 6 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Faculty of Nursing BN, Wainwright Term 7 (Fall 2025) role at University of Calgary Description The University of Calgary, Description The University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing is seeking Sessional Nursing Instructors to teach undergraduate level clinical courses in the community of Wainwright, Alberta, for the Fall Semester 2025 as follows: FALL SEMESTER (September 2, 2025 - December 2, 2025) TERM 7 - NURS 589 (Integrating Nursing Roles and Practices V): Older Adult (med/surg) Schedule Off-campus (12-hour clinical) Thursday & Friday with onsite Lab Tuesday 1300-1600 We are seeking applicants with nursing practice experience in rural acute care, chronic care, and perinatal care environments, particularly those with previous nursing education practice experience. Practice education takes place both on and off campus. Successful applicants are required to be available during that entire period(s). Applicants who are interested in teaching the lab or clinical alone are invited to apply. Please indicate in the cover letter if available for the lab, clinical, or both. Travel will be required between clinical sites. (Please note: Mileage for instructor travel may be covered.) Sessional Instructors are provided with exceptional orientation, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Teaching Responsibilities: Facilitate onsite and remote low to mid-fidelity simulation activities within the Clinical Learning Centre at Wainwright Health Center Work effectively with small groups of students on-campus or in off campus settings in acute care, chronic care, perinatal settings Participate in team meetings related to the practice course and faculty governance Participate in student assessment and evaluations on and off campus Seek excellence in teaching by applying various teaching strategies and working with colleagues Encourage and foster an environment of inquiry and valuing of evidence informed practice Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Candidates with BN/BScN preparation will be considered. Applied Experience: Rural practice experience related to semester focus Broad experience across a variety of areas Experience in clinical teaching, mentoring and supervision of students Enhanced Abilities: Application of adult teaching/learning principles Use of nursing process and conceptual frameworks assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation Communication and collaboration skills with other health professionals Teamwork and leadership skills Evaluation and promotions of student problem solving and critical thinking Ability to critique student performance and provide meaningful feedback Prioritizing and meeting competing demands/requirements of varied settings Computer skills in word processing, email and internet access Consideration of applications will begin immediately.
