Overview As a member of the military, Human Resources Administrators provide administrative and general human resources support to all military activities. The primary duties of a Human Resources Administrator include: Human resources administration and services Administration of pay and allowances Management of automated pay systems and personnel information Maintenance of personnel records Work environment Human Resources Administrators are employed at Canadian Armed Forces bases across Canada, on ships, and overseas, supporting the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, or Royal Canadian Air Force. They may also serve in special operation units, medical organizations, recruiting offices, schools, reserve units, NATO/UN positions, and other specialized units throughout the CAF. Opportunities are also available with Canadian embassies abroad. If you join the Regular Force, after completing training, you will be assigned to your first base, with potential relocations. If you join the Primary Reserve, you will serve part-time with a Reserve unit, typically working one night per week and some weekends, with opportunities for full-time employment and volunteering for deployments. Entry requirements No prior work experience or specific skills required; recruiters will assess suitability based on personal interests and attributes. The minimum education requirement is completion of Grade 10 or Secondary 4, including Grade 10 Applied Math and Grade 10 English or French. Foreign education may be accepted. Training Initial training includes the Basic Military Qualification course (BMQ), conducted at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu or Borden. Human Resources Administrators then attend the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in Borden for 90 days of occupational training covering various administrative processes and systems. Opportunities for advanced and specialized training are available as career progresses. Part-time options This position is available for part-time employment in the Primary Reserve at various locations. Reserve members serve part-time, typically in their community, and may volunteer for deployments or relocations. Compensation is approximately 92.8% of Regular Force pay, with benefits and pension eligibility.
