Overview Scheduling Supervisor (6 Month Contract) Oakville (On-Site) Job ID: 16815568 Location: Oakville (On-Site) Hours: Rotating shifts from 6 am 2 pm, 7 am 3 pm, 12-8 pm and 1-9 pm Hourly Rate: $34-$36 Role Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduling Supervisor to oversee the coordination of staff schedules in a dynamic, 24/7 environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring seamless operations by managing scheduling systems, optimizing coverage, and leading a dedicated scheduling team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused setting and takes pride in creating efficient systems that support both employees and organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day oversight to the scheduling team. Collaborate with management to develop schedules, process leave requests, and ensure all electronic timecards are completed accurately and on time. Ensure adherence to shift rules and collective agreement requirements, including breaks, hours of work, and time-off codes (e.g., sick, emergency, personal, bereavement). Resolve payroll errors in timecards, troubleshoot, apply sound knowledge of payroll processing, scheduling, and provide accurate time card solutions and in compliance with CBA & employment standards (OPSEU 249 & ONA). Monitor staffing levels to ensure proper coverage; reassign staff or adjust schedules as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Act as the primary point of contact for staff scheduling inquiries, clarifying policies and ensuring consistent application of scheduling procedures. Identify and address scheduling challenges, recommending improvements and corrective actions to management. Maintain and enhance the scheduling system; troubleshoot issues and liaise with software providers to resolve technical concerns. Track attendance data, analyze trends, and prepare reports and memos related to attendance and scheduling metrics. Support a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications & Skills Community College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory scheduling role; experience within a 24/7 unionized environment preferred. Strong working knowledge of online scheduling systems and their integration with other business applications (SSC - Staff Schedule Care highly preferred). Knowledge of CBA & employment standards (OPSEU 249 & ONA). Familiarity with attendance management programs and related reporting. Understanding of employment legislation and collective agreement compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage sensitive information with tact and confidentiality. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office applications and scheduling software. Reliable, adaptable, and able to work flexible hours as needed. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and maintenance of vaccination status as required. Why Apply?
