Our project office is in Oshawa, ON, and we are looking for a Project Manager to support its project site. Summary of the Role The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the project from bid preparation and design (including engineering drawings and calculations, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials), assisting in Estimating and Purchasing to procure system components and structural hardware, to managing subcontractors for system installations and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Maintain direct contact with customers and/or contractors/trades. Represent E.S. Fox Limited as the point of contact with the owner in a professional, businesslike manner. Understand all aspects of a project budget and address cost issues with the owner. Develop overall project schedules and oversee maintenance, progress, communication of schedules, and project reporting requirements. Understand project scope boundaries and address scope issues with the owner. Understand and administer the contractual agreement between E.S. Fox Limited and the owner and ensure compliance with contract documents. Ensure appropriate level of quality assurance with proper resources. Ensure the project is adequately resourced for proper control and execution. Provide timely notifications regarding delays and extras. Develop or oversee development of all project requisitions and work with central purchasing to obtain materials per schedule, best price, and warranties. Recognize and retain a productive workforce and address unproductive workforce. Understand job costing and tracking reports (dollars, hours, schedule, etc.). Assemble estimates for projects and project extras; develop cost estimates and execute cost reduction strategies. Ensure the project is executed safely per ESFL safety policy, ISO 18001 and OSHA requirements. Ensure environmental aspects comply with ISO 14001 requirements for the project. Key Requirements, Experience And Skills Community College Technologist/Technician Diploma. Professional Certification in Project Management. 610 years of direct construction industry experience, including estimating, scheduling and/or purchasing. 5 years experience as a Project Coordinator. Strong technical, managerial, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. CCA Gold Seal Program. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field would be an asset. Demonstrated ability to manage projects of substantial scope and complexity. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.). Solid negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
