Overview Now Hiring: Field Director or Field Supervisor Archaeology (Fort St. John, BC) Employer: Synergy Land and Environmental Services Ltd. Compensation: $28$45 per hour (based on experience & qualifications) Synergy Land and Environmental Services is a progressive, growing land and environmental consulting firm serving clients in oil & gas, forestry, mining, energy, agriculture, and municipal authorities across Canada. From humble beginnings in 2006, weve grown to over 60 staff across 7 offices nationwide . We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field Director or Field Supervisor based in Fort St. John, BC . This role offers the opportunity to lead archaeological field programs in Northeast BC, build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, and mentor junior staff while supporting projects in the region. Key Responsibilities Lead archaeological field assessments, reconnaissance, and impact assessments. Identify, record, and evaluate archaeological and traditional use sites. Supervise and mentor junior team members in the field. Liaise with Indigenous communities and contribute to relationship-building. Collaborate with project managers on client deliverables and regulatory compliance. Promote and uphold Synergys strong health & safety culture. Mandatory Requirements Field Director or Supervisor status in NEBC and/or BC . Bachelors or Graduate degree in Archaeology/Anthropology. 360+ consulting field days under a BC permit . Minimum 2 years of consulting archaeology field experience. Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence, First Aid, and H2S Alive. Physically fit and able to conduct daily fieldwork in challenging conditions. Preferred Skills GPS/GIS and mapping techniques. Lithic artifact analysis, cataloguing, excavation, and site mapping. Safe operation of UTVs, ATVs, snowmobiles, and related equipment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical report writing skills. Working Conditions Fieldwork in rugged terrain and all weather conditions (up to 10 km/day). Camp shifts with non-standard hours, weekends, and holidays during busy seasons. Why Join Synergy?
