Description The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and selecting exceptional candidates while facilitating full-cycle recruitment activities for various roles across the organization. The TA Specialist will support onboarding new employees and participate in projects to enhance the recruitment function and promote a best-in-class candidate experience. This position will be based out of our Canadian Head Office office, located in Nisku, AB. Responsibilities Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved. Source candidates using various methods, including job boards, social media, and networking. Manage end-to-end recruitment, from screening to offer negotiation. Conduct comprehensive interviews to assess qualifications and cultural fit. Provide candidates with a positive and informative experience throughout the process. Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs. Develop job descriptions and align on effective recruitment strategies. Foster strong internal stakeholder relationships for seamless collaboration. Contribute to projects enhancing recruitment strategies and processes. Conduct employee onboarding activities with a focus on delivering exceptional candidate experience. Support preboarding activities, greet new hires on their first day, and follow up throughout the week. Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools effectively. Participate in hiring events, career fairs, or other industry events as required. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Post secondary education in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field. 3+ years of experience in full cycle recruitment, or specialized recruitment in the construction industry. Proficiency with software systems such as shared drives, MS Office Suite, and Applicant Tracking Systems. Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Must possess a valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract as determined by our Michels Canada Transportation Compliance Review team. Desired Skills/Qualifications Demonstrated ability to proactively source talent through various channels including resume mining platforms, internal databases, LinkedIn Recruiter. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Basic knowledge or understanding of the construction industry. Values teamwork and collaborating with other areas of the business to achieve successful outcomes. Ability to build and foster strong relationships with various types of personnel (field operations, corporate office, candidates). Languages Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
