Join to apply for the Building Engineer role at EllisDon 2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants Responsibilities Be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of the building automation system, HVAC system including chillers and boiler plant, water treatment systems, fire alarm systems, pneumatic tube system, medical gas and other mechanical/electrical systems or equipment. The incumbent also makes rounds in the mechanical rooms and responds to all trouble calls from various departments throughout the hospital, rectifies or isolates the problems and ensures continuity of their related operation. Operate chillers, cooling towers, steam boilers, hot water boilers and their auxiliary and ancillary equipment, promptly respond to their alarms, troubleshoot, fix or isolate them. Perform preventive maintenance on air compressors, air dryer, actuators, regulator, valves and control airlines as required Acknowledge alarms and review computer printout of building automation, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, and medical gas systems; troubleshoot and try to clear alarms Inspect plant equipment and facility's mechanical rooms on a daily basis and fill out the necessary log sheets Test, calibrate, measure and adjust control devices and space environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity and air flow through out the facility including patient isolation rooms Inspect and replace filters in AHUs, fan coils, AC units, medical air system, cooling and heating water systems and water treatment systems Respond to trouble calls and perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical and electronic (nurse call bell) tasks Qualifications Ontario or Fourth or Third Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate or Building Operator Certificate/Diploma or equivalent 3 - 5 years of experience required Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Ability to read and understand mechanical, Electrical and control drawings Knowledge of building automation system, chillers, boiler, water treatment & fire alarm system Knowledge of Siemens fire alarm, pneumatic tube and Medical Gas System EllisDon is proud to provide this unique career opportunity that provides continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package within an environment that is committed to inclusion and respects diversity.
