Overview Director, Event Technology I - Markham is responsible for achieving revenue and profitability goals at assigned location(s). The role ensures World-Class service, cultivates relationships with venue personnel, and promotes high performance, accountability and continuous improvement within the team. Reports to the Area Director, Venues or RVP, Venues. Key Responsibilities Financial Management and Reporting Drive results by managing an efficient and profitable operation with a focus on revenue maximization and profitability using cost control measures in accordance with company operating procedures. Achieve ENCOREs financial goals for the location(s) by effectively managing labor, equipment sub-rentals and other costs. Understand and utilize operational and financial reports; complete standard and ad hoc reports accurately and on time. Utilize the company billing system to coordinate invoicing activities and ensure billing is reviewed and approved by clients. Complete the sales forecast at the home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Participate in business review presentations as needed, in collaboration with regional management. Review and manage location P&L and develop action plans to address deficiencies and grow the business. Ensure venue partners process all payments to ENCORE in a timely basis. Operations Management Perform daily floor operations including scheduling, equipment setup, operation and strike; assist on the floor as needed. Ensure equipment and services are delivered on time, in good working condition, and per client and venue specifications and brand standards. Anticipate equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner. Use inventory control procedures to maintain proper inventory levels while ensuring safety, security and quality assurance of equipment. Share labor and equipment efficiently within the local market. Attend operational venue meetings such as daily stand-up meetings with venue operations staff. Sales Management Work with Regional Sales Director to create effective sales strategies to maximize revenue per event, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that convey value and address customer challenges. Prepare and present quotes and proposals timely, including those submitted through encoreglobal.com, venue booking system, or other sources. Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings to support the customer event experience. Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events. Understand event cost structure and incorporate into solution designs according to profitability guidelines. Attend customer meetings, understand goals, and respond to questions and challenges. Maintain up-to-date customer information in the CRM system at all times. Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events. Create and present information and reports to senior management related to performance, pipeline, forecasting, etc. Customer Service Deliver World-Class Service by cultivating and maintaining relationships with customers, venue personnel and ENCORE supporting functions. Provide oversight to personnel to assist with event execution. Exceed expectations of internal and external customers. Meet with guests on site to confirm needs are met and equipment is accurate and functional. Monitor small to medium size events and check in on customers throughout the day. Enforce guidelines in the Employee Guide and/or venue standards to portray a polished and professional image. Technical Ability Understand and oversee the technical aspects of the job; apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to guide technicians in resolving equipment and software issues. Utilize applicable company computer systems. Act as on-site technical expert as needed for events. Assist on the floor with operations as needed. People Development Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement that values learning and quality. Manage performance, address employee concerns, maintain staffing levels, and facilitate team development. Handle human resources activities including selection, performance management and learning. Provide coaching to develop the skills of team members. Train employees on ENCORE standards for service and equipment, and ensure proper training on company systems. Recommend team members for training opportunities as needed. Job Qualifications High School Diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred. 3+ years of audio visual experience 1+ years of supervisory experience 2+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred Sales experience is a plus Working knowledge of audio visual equipment in a live show environment Proficiency with computer hardware and with software including Internet and Microsoft Office Effective leadership abilities and customer satisfaction focus A valid drivers license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles Compensation and Work Environment Salary Pay Range: $60,000 - $78,000 The compensation offered is determined based on location, qualifications, experience, and other factors. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives. Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with exposure to varying temperatures and dust; irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
