Job Description

Overview Technical Artist Co-op (Canada, 8-Months, Summer) at EA SPORTS. Start date May 11, 2026 (8-month term); onsite and hybrid options available; eligible for course credit depending on your institution. Responsibilities Partner with peers on the Technical Art team and with project Technical Art Directors to support game and studio vision, provide/receive feedback, and continuously improve tools and technologies that enable high-visual-quality assets and future-ready pipelines. Collaborate with content creators using a service-minded approach to understand issues and requirements and offer support. Design, implement, and maintain content creation tools, pipelines, and workflows that meet artist needs and boost productivity for content creators. Learn and become familiar with multiple technologies, technical concepts, and problems as part of the role. Qualifications Available for a full-time paid internship from May 11 December 18, 2026. Enrolled in an accredited program in a related field and returning to school for at least one semester after the work term. Knowledge of 2D and 3D art packages (Maya and Photoshop desired). Experience in scripting and programming (Python and C# desired). Foundational experience with 3D concepts such as modelling, texturing, rendering, physically-based shading, lighting, rigging, skinning and deformation, dynamics, particle systems, and image manipulation techniques. Basic familiarity with game engine workflows (Unity, Unreal), asset pipelines, profiling, and revision control systems. Include a portfolio link if applicable. Compensation and Benefits Base salary ranges for this geographic market (British Columbia) are listed as CAD 60,000 65,000. Final offer will be determined by factors including degree type, stage of study, qualifications, experience, and location. Benefits include 80 hours of sick time per year (prorated), 16 paid holidays, medical insurance, and retirement savings options.
