What a day at EXP has in store for you In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team in Ontario and have the opportunity to work on various projects. Responsibilities Prepare preliminary design reports (PDR), design criteria, preliminary and detailed designs for new and/or rehabilitation of divided highways, arterial regional roads, collector roads, and local roads. Prepare preliminary designs for CADD staff and review drawings for compliance with applicable industry and client standards. Prepare Contract Specifications, Tender Documents, and Applications for Agency Approvals. Review and issue finalized Shop Drawings. Coordinate and mentor junior staff within the division. Liaise with Clients, Sub-consultants, Contractors and construction supervision staff. Assist with the preparation of Proposals for future projects. What Your Experience Looks Like Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario with PEO with 10+ years, preferably from a consulting engineering office environment in Ontario. Experience on P3, Design-Build and Infrastructure Ontario-Metrolinx projects would be an asset. Approved in MTO-RAQS under the Highway Engineering-Detailed Design Category for Detailed Design - Multilane Arterial & Expressway. Proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D. Experience with earlier versions of Microstation and InRoads considered. Strong computer software skills with ProjectWise, Word, Excel & MS Project. Highly proficient in the use of MTOs CPS and HiCo software applications. Comprehensive knowledge of MTO and Metrolinx standards, including various Municipal & Regional design and drafting standards. Skilled in cost estimating, quantity preparation and specification writing. Track record of gaining approval of infrastructure designs from MTO, roads authorities and environmental agencies. Independent, organized and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliver projects under stringent schedules in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
