The Engineering services group in Sudbury, Ontario provides mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the educational, institutional, commercial, recreational, and multi-residential market. Our clients and projects are varied and diverse. The office is a high energy workspace where we work closely as a team to meet the requirements and deadlines of our clients. We currently have many educational, health care, institutional, retail, and multi-unit residential projects. We are looking for an intermediate Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience in Electrical design for buildings, including Building Power, Lighting, Fire Protection, Network Cabling, Security, and Communications systems to join our growing team. Your role within the team Independent design of small and medium projects and portions of larger complex projects. Preparation of electrical specifications. Attendance to client, consultant, and contractor meetings. Obtaining information from equipment suppliers and incorporating it into designs and specifications. Preparation of engineering calculations. Coordinating with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services. Preparation of schematics and project documents. Independent review of shop drawings. Review of quotations from contractors. Providing technical direction to junior designers and CAD operators. Why choose AtkinsRalis as an employer? Minimum 5 years design experience. Demonstrated track record of electrical design of complex building systems. Extensive skills with AUTOCAD, REVIT, Word, Acrobat & Excel (Micro Station, Power simulation software and other design tools an asset). Familiarity with design requirements for Building Power, Lighting, Fire protection, and Communications systems. Familiarity with relevant building codes including OBC, OECS, ASHRAE, CSA.
