Responsibilities The Estimator / Project Coordinator is located in North York, ON and typically reports directly to the Department Manager. Their primary focus is to estimate, plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate pipe and structural fabrication projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Emphasis is placed on estimating, reporting and monitoring progress, planning and scheduling and dealing with project changes. Plan, in conjunction with the Department Manager, to execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships Prepare take offs and labour assessments for both pipe and structural fabrication project budgets and estimates (Excel/Accubid/Autobid) Prepare fabrication drawings (Spoolfab, Autocad). Training can be provided. Create fabrication packages for processing through the shop floor Perform miscellaneous tasks such as timesheet submittal, order materials and consumables etc. Work closely with VDC and project engineers to provide ready for fabrication Spool and structural drawings Set up and maintain project management files in accordance with departmental standards. Exercise due diligence in managing customer changes Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients What You Can Offer Graduate of Mechanical Engineering program or Construction Technology program with related work experience OR Qualified tradesperson in mechanical field with several years experience, and previous estimating / drafting experience Minimum 5 years or more experience in the structural or pipe fabrication industry Fab shop experience considered an asset Welding process experience considered an asset Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements MS applications (Word, Excel, and Projects) Accubid Bluebeam AutoCad / Spoolfab (training can be provided) Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
