What you can expect to do here Work with mechanical and electrical manager to establish and grow a team of electrical engineers in the GTA. Lead a team, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation. Conduct regular team meetings and foster a positive team environment. Work with managers and business development leaders to pursue work in Ontario primarily focusing on GTA. Design electrical systems for various building types across Ontario. Manage project assignments from proposal to construction, including power distribution, lighting, and security systems. Collaborate with a design team to develop electrical designs and prepare project drawings and specifications. Communicate with clients, design partners, authorities, and contractors. Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards. Adhere to project budgets and timelines, maintaining accurate project tracking and billing. Review existing systems and prepare condition reports and feasibility studies. Prepare load calculations and select systems and equipment. Coordinate project drawings using CAD and BIM software. Participate in fee proposals and business development activities. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff. What youll bring to WSP Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P. Eng.). The drive and passion to build and lead a team. 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering consulting for buildings and infrastructure. Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a team to deliver design submissions, often with demanding timelines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; Proficiency with AGI or ETAP is considered an asset. Experience in creating tender document packages with drawings and specifications. Experience with site reviews of building electrical systems. An extensive understanding of building construction and building electrical systems and infrastructure.
