Position Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography Overview Join the Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology Unit at Quinte Health, a hub of activity across four sites. Be part of a team that supports critical departments like the OR, Fracture Clinic, and Endoscopy, delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging with compassion and precision. The role offers growth opportunities, including leadership paths such as Senior or Charge Technologist, and skill development across X-ray modalities (including mammography and CT). The schedule includes days, evenings, nights, and on-call rotations, with a rewarding emphasis on patient care and professional development. The position is based at North Hastings Hospital (NHH) in Bancroft, a rural setting offering strong community ties and access to outdoor activities.' Responsibilities Perform general and special radiography procedures according to the Standards of Practice. Perform Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards. Ensure adequate levels of products and supplies to support daily operations. Archive/retrieve data to/from PACS. Report equipment deficiencies to the Charge Technologist/Manager. Instruct students during clinical rotation when required and participate in evaluating students progress. Assist in the orientation and training of new technologists. Contribute to continuous quality improvement and provide high-quality service. Demonstrate courteous, respectful communication with colleagues and patients. Participate in continuing education to advance professional growth and development. Maintain working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging policy and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned; assigned duties may include CT. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Imaging - Radiography. Registration with OAMRS/CAMRT preferred; possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO. Initiative, organizational and decision-making skills. Strong computer skills. Excellent communication abilities; able to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and the healthcare team. Ability to cope with a physically demanding workload. Must be available to work all shifts including weekends and stat holidays. Duties Performs all general and special radiography procedures according to Standards of Practice. Physical Demands Strength: Required frequently lifting and carrying, pushing/pulling. Mobility: Required frequently standing and walking on hard surfaces; crouching/squatting occasionally; bending/stooping, twisting, reaching frequently. Dexterity: Required frequently handling objects, gripping, neck/shoulder/wrist movement, fine finger movement.
