Horizon is seeking an open, enthusiastic, experienced Senior Loads and Aeroelastics Engineer. As a Loads and Aeroelastics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the structural and flight dynamics integrity of hybrid eVTOL aircraft. This position involves analyzing and predicting the structural loads and aeroelastic behavior across a range of flight and ground conditions, supporting both design and certification efforts. Your work will ensure that the aircraft structure performs safely and efficiently under aerodynamic and inertial forces throughout the operational envelope. Your Day-to-Day Perform static and dynamic loads analysis for various flight phases, including takeoff, landing, transition, and hover Develop and validate aeroelastic models to assess phenomena such as flutter, divergence, and control surface effectiveness Generate loads spectra and load envelopes to support structural design, sizing, and fatigue analysis Work with aerodynamicists, flight control engineers, and structural teams to ensure accurate loads input and feedback integration Support the design and tuning of control laws with aeroelastic stability in mind Conduct sensitivity studies, load reduction analyses, and flight-test correlation for structural response Be an integral part of the team, projecting positive behaviours and influence onto the team Possess an in-depth knowledge of the standards and specifications appropriate to the discipline Challenge the status quo, bring new ideas to improve engineering quality, productivity and timeliness of delivery Enforce standards, ensure rigor, resilience and continuous improvement in design solutions, meeting all regulatory requirements, conforming to specifications, quality and requirements within schedule and budget Act as a project integrator and interface between project management and other engineering teams Stay up to date with, and implement the latest developments in your field Drive the continuous improvement of our processes to increase safety and efficiency We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences: Demonstrated experience (7+ years) in a relevant role from aerospace or automotive, having worked across all phases of the lifecycle. Ideally you would have hands on experience with systems engineering, and you will have familiarity with eVTOL Certification regulations from the TCCA, FAA, and EASA. About Your Future Team. We are located just outside of Lindsay, in the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario, Canada. Our team is onsite at our facility, as a group, a minimum of two days per week. We expect the same from you, and we are mindful of what a realistic commute would be to keep you safe and at your best. We offer relocation allowances in appropriate cases.
