Overview Join to apply for the Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances role at Canonical . This is a general track role, hiring for opportunities across all levels of seniority in our Sales and Alliances teams. Remote opportunities available globally. Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation and IoT initiatives. We have 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries and operate with few office-based roles; teams meet in person two to four times yearly to align on strategy and execution. The Alliances Sales Directors and Enterprise Sales Executives own relationships with partners and direct customers, respectively, to drive revenue growth and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes. You will work with cross-functional teams including direct sales, marketing, product, customer success, finance, legal and support. Location: We have remote opportunities available globally. These roles entail a travel requirement to drive partnerships and engage with customers and partners as needed. Responsibilities Advancing a deep understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystem, and open source selling models Negotiating contracts and commercial business terms Building and expanding strategic relationships Developing and executing sales strategies and engagements Raising awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu Delivering on targets and providing a voice of the partner and/or customer Traveling domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person Aligning and supporting internal Field teams to identify, support, grow and transact Collaborating with Marketing, Sales Engineering and Product Management to achieve targets Leading executive interlocks between partners/customers and Canonical leadership What we are looking for Track record of delivering revenue growth in technology Experience with Linux and open source Strong academic credentials; undergraduate technical degree or compelling alternative path Confidence to speak up, give and receive feedback, and share ideas Leadership, commitment to skills development and mentorship Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate with motivated colleagues Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability Appreciation of diversity and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Self-motivation with results-oriented mindset and high personal drive Ability to travel internationally (approx. two weeks per event) and more frequently as required What we offer Distributed work environment with twice-yearly in-person team sprints Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year Annual compensation review and performance-based bonuses/commissions Additional benefits aligned with local needs and global fairness Holiday leave and maternity/paternity leave Employee Assistance Program including Health and Wellness support Opportunities to travel to new locations to meet colleagues Travel upgrades for long-haul company events About Canonical Canonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the move to open source.
