The Role Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this fast-paced, multidisciplinary role supports the manufacture of our flagship 3D printer, Hylo. Acting at the interface between our Engineering and Manufacturing teams, you will identify and execute on opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce cost. Day to day, you will work closely with the manufacturing team on a variety of challenges including release of engineering changes, resolving quality issues, creating assembly tooling, or vetting new suppliers. Collect DFA/DFM feedback from the assembly team and integrate improvements through change order requests and design reviews. Identify and execute on opportunities for tooling, workcenter layout, or quality procedure improvements. Drive the development & implementation of new assembly cell layouts, material tracking systems, and participate in new facility planning projects. Provide engineering support to diagnose the root cause of quality alerts and recommend dispositions. Support implementation of corrective actions through documentation updates, development of assembly tooling, or light automation investments. Support the development of quality processes and infrastructure throughout the manufacturing organization. Take the lead on component obsolescence or new supplier capability sourcing initiatives. Qualifications Manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or quality assurance background. Technical degree, either vocational college or engineering. 4+ years in a machinery manufacturing or complex product assembly environment. Experience building and scaling manufacturing systems for complex electro-mechanical products. Experience in a contract manufacturing environment is an asset. Can-do, solution-oriented attitude, with a pragmatic approach. Strong written and oral communication skills in English and French. Familiar with engineering change control and management of change best practices. Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D design and 2D drafting package. Proficient with ERP systems, Python scripting, and other light software automation technologies.
