Job Title

Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement, the Manager, Direct Procurement is responsible for process development, competency coaching, and providing support to the procurement workflow of Procurement Specialists across all of Sofinas further processing plants. This role will also lead special projects aimed at identifying and recommending cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies within these plants . Key Accountabilities: Procurement Drive continuous improvement of performance standards related to direct procurement activities. Conduct regular health checks on standard procurement processes, including evaluating and improving Procurement Specialists' competency levels. Develop and implement new standards as required. Actively monitor procurement requirements to ensure alignment with plant schedules. Expedite delayed requirements and escalate issues promptly to resolve shortages or potential shortages. Apply problem-solving techniques to ensure service, quality, or cost deficiencies are resolved at their root cause. Manage vendor agreements to ensure acceptable quality, timely deliveries, and adherence to approved prices. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure materials are purchased according to specifications. Prepare and communicate annual volume forecasts to key suppliers, developing stocking programs to reduce working capital requirements. Partner with the inventory management team to minimize inventory levels through a lean, Just-In-Time (JIT) approach. Execute procurement special projects aimed at leveraging Sofinas buying power, improving efficiencies, and achieving cost savings. Requirements: Diploma in Business or PMAC.
