Overview A full-time opportunity in AECOM Canadas Mining and Industrial team as the Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Discipline Lead. The ideal candidate will have a track record in team management, delivering conceptual, preliminary and detailed design phases, and construction services of mining and industrial projects. The role involves mentoring staff, coordinating with clients, and delivering studies and detailed designs. Responsibilities Provide mentorship to junior staff, guiding technical development and recommending training aligned with Mining and Industrial group goals. Establish and maintain training, development and succession plans to build a high-performing team for mining and industrial clients. Provide leadership and engineering decisions to facilitate the delivery of Electrical designs, including Power, Control, Instrumentation and Communications systems. Ensure adherence to AECOM QA/QC procedures and client standards in project documentation. Promote accuracy and quality of technical aspects across project documents. Lead planning, design and supervision of power and grounding systems, lighting and low-tension systems, and automation components including SCADA for mining and industrial processes. Plan and produce procurement packages and engineering reports in English and/or French. Coordinate with Construction Contract Administrator on electrical shop drawings and contractor queries. Lead site inspections, issue Field Instructions/Field Orders, and deficiency reports. Lead a team through all project phases providing technical support and client-facing project management on smaller to mid-size projects. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors degree or equivalent with 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience in heavy industry such as mining, including field services during construction. Registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia. Preferred: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering; 20+ years of electrical engineering design experience in multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code; knowledge of CSA, ANSI, ISA, IEEE, NFPA standards; experience producing procurement packages, P&IDs, SLDs, control networks, instrument lists, and related documents. Strong ability to interpret notes and specifications, strong verbal/written communication in English and/or French, and ability to collaborate with stakeholders. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, OneDrive and SharePoint; experience with eTAP or similar power system modelling tools. Demonstrated ability to support business development in mining and industrial markets; strong problem solving and leadership capabilities. Must be able to work with cross-functional teams and manage multi-disciplinary staff. Additional Information Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Compensation: CAD 80,000 - CAD 140,000 per year, depending on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
