Overview Perkins & Will is a multi-disciplinary design firm specializing in the design of public buildings and spaces including recreation centres libraries academic facilities corporate and commercial projects and transit projects. The studio consists of architects interior designers and urban designers and places a strong emphasis on design excellence and sustainability. Within this body of work there is a strong emphasis on research and sustainable design; our research labs are continuously developing new knowledge to allow our creativity and curiosity to impact our projects and their communities. Responsibilities Prepare preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review. Prepare drawings for schematic design and design development. Exercise creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials including design sketches renderings models and graphics. Adhere to firm and project goals of excellence in design execution and sustainability. Prepare contract documents including details sections elevations and schedules. Produce amendments addenda and bulletins. Assists in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review. Perform area calculations according to specified standards. Perform site analysis including survey of existing conditions and field measurements. Perform tasks according to Perkins and Will Project Delivery Manual. Organize and plan accordingly to execute tasks. Self-check work for accuracy omissions and legibility. To join us you must have Professional Degree in Architecture or Architecture Technology 8 years experience in CA A minimum of 2 years working with Revit Experience in Contract Administration Experience in all phases and aspects of a project is desirable Advanced knowledge of project design and construction documentation production Knowledge of construction materials Graphic and 3D visualization skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Collaborative and professional work ethic Has the capacity to mobilize from one construction site to another. LEED AP or within 6 months of hire Security clearance is required Other attributes Comfortable working in an open multi-disciplinary and team-oriented environment; Openness to participating in collaborative design exercises; Ability and experience in balancing multiple stakeholder and community interests; Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; and Energetic self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
