Job Description

Overview Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact. We are hiring for a Field Service Technician Level 1 to support start-up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshooting at customer sites. Product-specific training will be provided. This role will interact with customers. Core Responsibilities Evaluate, repair, and conduct hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps Basic troubleshooting of electrical control panels Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams Assist with start-ups and emergency callouts Operate and maintain a service truck with crane and out-riggers Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment (e.g., forklift, overhead cranes) Work with company-provided hand and power tools Accurate record keeping in Xylems work order management system Create and maintain a safe, organized working environment and adhere to customer-site protocols Care for company property Demonstrate High Impact Culture through innovation, accountability, and empowerment Ability to function in a team environment; may work under direct supervision or independently as needed Travel Requirements Some travel required (overnight stays, away from home) Pre-hire Requirements to Operate Company Vehicle Driver Application for Employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Driver Disclosure and Release Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement FMCSA Certificate of Awareness Driver Certificate of Violations Driver Statement of On Duty Hours if applicable Road Test Copy of Drivers License Copy of Medical Certificate Qualifications Education HS diploma or equivalent Experience 0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred Skills Electrically and mechanically inclined Critical thinking and troubleshooting ability Ability to comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices Day In The Life The role is based in an industrial shop setting with PPE required. May involve exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises. Physical demands include standing and lifting up to 50 lb. Overtime and travel for training may be required.
