The Master of Data Analytics (MDA) program prepares big data professionals through real-world case studies, internships, and capstone projects, providing core training in the Data Science Lifecycle from problem framing to visualization. Position Details Title: Assistant Professor, Master of Data Analytics Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite) Work arrangement: Onsite, days per week Reports To: Associate Dean Reason for vacancy: Existing vacancy/New Position Salary: Minimum salary $91,800 (rank and salary determined through internal review and approval process) Key Responsibilities Design and deliver lectures on data science topics, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and data modeling. Develop teaching plans, notes, and instructional materials. Teach concepts in predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics. Develop, supervise, and grade assignments, exams, and student projects. Monitor attendance and academic progress; provide feedback on performance. Offer academic counseling and career mentorship to students. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous course improvement. Collaborate with faculty on research initiatives and interdisciplinary projects. Stay current with trends in data science and integrate new knowledge into courses. Foster a motivating, student-centered learning environment; promote critical thinking and problem-solving. Required Qualifications and Experience PhD in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field. Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms. Expertise in optimization techniques; experience with optimization software; familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) is a plus. Proficiency in at least two of SAS, R, SQL, Python. Strong understanding of data analytics and data modeling techniques. University-level teaching experience with a track record of engaging students. Research or industry-based data science experience preferred. Strong research profile in supply chain optimization, operations management, and data analytics is desirable.
