Field Coordinators are job-site leaders in health and safety, ensuring quality reporting and craftsmanship, and that all engineering work is completed professionally and ethically. Reporting to a Project Engineer or Project Manager, your main duties will include contract administration, project planning, scheduling, and project reporting. This role serves as an advisor to Project Management on contractual, legal, and other project-related issues. District Overview Kiewit Foundations District specializes in geotechnical solutions, including deep foundations, ground improvement, and earth retention systems. We boast a modern fleet of specialized equipment to handle projects efficiently. A strong local presence allows us to quickly mobilize resources and provide high-quality service. Location Rotational travel to the job site is required for this position. We relocate our teams based on the work available, development plans, skill sets, and career goals of each team member. Responsibilities Field Engineering: assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision; perform quantity calculations; assist in work plans and work packages; assist in field surveying and work layout support; assist in compiling daily labor timesheets; assist in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs); participate in safety reviews and toolbox meetings; order and schedule material deliveries; plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups; supervise field operations. Office Engineering: perform material takeoffs; perform basic engineering calculations and drafting; assist in data gathering for submittals; assist with purchase orders and subcontracts; assist in schedule maintenance; maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, and memorandums; assist with data entry in the job cost system and review cost reports; assist in change orders and as-built data; provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations. Estimating: assist in reviewing historical data for bids; conduct plan and specification reviews to identify risk areas; perform material and quantity takeoffs. Qualifications 2+ years of construction field experience Work experience in engineering and leading engineers Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related Ability to travel and relocate as needed Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative Strong work ethic and commitment to doing the job right the first time Demonstrated ethics and integrity Passion for safety with the ability to help ensure nobody gets hurt Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and objectives Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail Working Conditions Regular, reliable attendance; ability to work productively and meet deadlines; professional communication with supervisors and team members; perform work safely and follow instructions; flexible to work normal hours with overtime and weekends as required; field roles may involve working at various locations and conditions.
