Our client is hiring a Structural Engineering Drafter to join their growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projectsincluding commercial buildings, infrastructure, and bridgeswhile collaborating closely with experienced engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary teams. In this role, youll use your CAD and/or BIM skills to produce high-quality drawings and documentation that bring structural designs to life. Whether youre an experienced drafter with your APEGA designation or a junior professional working toward it, we want to hear from you. Duties and Responsibilities: The key job functions are: Develop precise 2D and 3D structural drawings for commercial buildings, infrastructure, and bridge projects. Produce detailed construction documents including plans, sections, details, and schedules for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures. Support engineers by translating sketches and calculations into comprehensive design layouts and marked-up drawings. Prepare bridge girder erection drawings, rebar detailing, and structural connections in compliance with DOT and AASHTO standards. Coordinate drawing packages with architectural, civil, and MEP teams to ensure alignment and eliminate design conflicts. Apply relevant building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, AASHTO) and adhere to client-specific drafting requirements. Revise and update drawings throughout the design and construction process based on markups, redlines, and field input. Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in line with company standards and project protocols. Create crane lift plan drawings to support construction staging and logistics planning. Education: Diploma or associate degree in Drafting, Civil/Structural Technology, or a related discipline is required. Additional training or certification in CAD/BIM software is considered an asset. Experience: 24 years of experience in structural drafting, preferably with a focus on commercial buildings, infrastructure, or civil/bridge projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required; familiarity with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is considered an asset. Experience preparing detailed construction documents and coordinating across multidisciplinary teams is preferred. Skills: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to interpret and apply building codes, standards, and technical specifications Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across disciplines Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Comfortable adapting to shifting project priorities and client needs Experience managing and organizing large drawing sets and documentation Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new drafting tools or software Base Salary: $80,000 120,000 per year Salary based on experience. Full benefits package included. Work Hours: 40 hours per week. Remote Work: This position is not remote and required to be on-site. Additional Notes: This opportunity does not include relocation.
