Electrical Engineering Designer - Transformers Join to apply for the Electrical Engineering Designer - Transformers role at Hammond Power Solutions . Reporting to the Director, Engineering Design, the Electrical Engineering Designer will be responsible for designing transformers/reactors of varying complexity, with technical guidance. The role involves direct interaction with customers to provide high-level support, ensuring quality output and supporting other departments in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities Design transformers/reactors of medium complexity using existing guidelines, making technical decisions to complete designs. Review application requirements, clarify with customers, and provide suggestions. Prepare quotes with technical details and factory costs. Create optimized designs and MIP for orders, ensuring costs align with quotes. Coordinate with drafting teams for design optimization. Support manufacturing and approve test reports. Assist with customer/field issues and quality assurance as needed. Follow project requirements, especially for COD projects. Develop cost-effective solutions in collaboration with customers and internal teams. Qualifications Preferred: BSc. in Electrical Engineering; Minimum: Electrical Engineering Technologist. 3-5 years of experience in transformer design. Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals. Working towards or eligible for Professional Engineering Designation is an asset. Practical problem-solving skills and effective communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and programming languages. Ability to perform engineering calculations, including stress analysis.
