Overview LEAN Facilitator role at Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME). The CME has an opportunity for two (2) LEAN Facilitators in Alberta. The role focuses on member companies located within the province and is remote, with the requirement to reside in Alberta. The term is 2 years, with potential renewal. CME strengthens competitive advantage through LEAN and productivity, trade and export, energy and environment, leadership development, safety, and more. CME engages with government and supports member-driven programs and services across Canada. About the Role The CME has two LEAN Facilitators in Alberta. This role supports member companies in the province and collaborates with colleagues across geographies. The term is 2 years, with possible renewal. Although designated as Remote, the successful hires must reside in Alberta. The LEAN Facilitator contributes to operational improvement and financial performance for CME member companies. What You Will Do: Provide training and support to CME members in Alberta, facilitate a LEAN Consortium, and facilitate industry peer councils. Focus on training delivery and development of processes to support standard in-person and online delivery. Engage in business development of CME LEAN Training in Alberta with member and non-member manufacturers. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Own, prepare, and deliver LEAN 101. Own, prepare, and deliver the LEAN Level 1 (Yellow Belt) Program. Own, prepare, and deliver the LEAN Level 2 (Green Belt) Program. Facilitate the delivery of a LEAN consortium. Customize and tailor to individual manufacturers needs for private delivery of training upon request with support. Provide LEAN program development support to members. Work with CME Facilitators and partners across the country to ensure consistency of methods and messages. Other Support the LEAN Champion in promoting LEAN among Canadian manufacturers. Provide information to prospective CME members on CME programs and services. Promote CME events and programs. Support and attend CME events as required. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in the office. Support business development by raising awareness of CME Training Programs and Workshops. Compile and share success stories. What You Will Bring To The Role Entrepreneurial spirit with technical and subject matter expertise. Proven project management skills: prioritization, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, attention to detail, and collaboration. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders; ability to build consensus within a team. LEAN Black Belt certification preferred. Adult Instructor/Education certification an asset. Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience; 13 years LEAN implementation preferred for Lean Facilitator; Sr. Lean Facilitator: 5+ years manufacturing and 37 years leading operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Commitment to CMEs standards of continuous improvement, ethics, and integrity. Valid Drivers License. Valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions. What Success Looks Like CME member companies in the geography adopt LEAN principles in manufacturing. LEAN training enrollment increases year over year. LEAN graduates continue in learning and certification progression. CME membership in the geography increases. Member companies increase utilization of CME benefits beyond LEAN. CME members become more competitive, efficient, and productive due to LEAN Facilitator work. Travel 50-60% travel within the assigned geography. Periodic travel across western Canada may be required. Overnight travel often ranges from 1-3 days. Location Remote, as CME does not maintain physical offices in the prairies. Incumbent must reside within the designated geography.
