This role is a temporary contract position until March 31, 2026 . The role is based at ECO Canadas Calgary head office (unless otherwise noted). After a 3-month probation period, eligible employees may transition to a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week in the office. Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through market research, personal networking, and targeted outreach in environmental consulting, blue economy, and related sectors. Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to inform strategic plans and identify emerging opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and potential clients. Develop and deliver proposals, funding applications, and partnership agreements to advance ECO Canadas strategic objectives. Meet and exceed monthly KPIs and annual revenue targets. Explore business opportunities with new markets and maintain active engagement with technical and professional organizations to stay ahead of trends. Provide strategic input to ECO Canadas leadership on business development priorities and market positioning. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and marketing materials to support stakeholder engagement and decision-making. Track and evaluate key performance metrics to assess outcomes and identify areas for growth and improvement. Qualifications & Skills Post-secondary education in Business, Environmental Studies/Science, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in business development or consulting, ideally within the environmental or marine sectors. Proven success in generating new business, preparing proposals, and securing funding for environmental or sustainability projects. Strong understanding of environmental consulting practices and blue economy trends (e.g., sustainable fisheries, renewable ocean energy, marine conservation). Excellent communication abilities, relationship-management, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint); familiarity with CRM tools is an asset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel across Canada to meet clients, attend events, and support project deliverables. Bilingual fluency (English/French) is an asset. Why Join ECO Canada?
