Overview Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Specialist (Hybrid) role at Morgan Stanley. Join the Firmwide developer tools group, MSDE, which is responsible for shaping the SDLC by implementing the tools, systems, and processes used by 15,000+ developers in the Firm for software development and deployment. This is a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering position at Vice President level within the Technology division, focused on managing and optimizing technical infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems to support business needs. What You'll Do In The Role Work on the strategic shift from legacy tooling to modern replacements, including a cloud-first strategy Build enterprise-level tooling and services, and management layers around cloud/SaaS-based products Develop migration strategies moving users and workloads from legacy to strategic platforms Maintain existing legacy on-prem tooling Influence architectural decisions, selecting the most suitable technologies Participate in modernizing the legacy stack to a container-based model with a cloud-first approach Mentor and train team members on source control practices, design standards, and coding techniques Manage individual project priorities, timelines, and deliverables based on technical expertise Develop the team to ensure quality end products Drive collaboration with other company-wide engineering teams to share tech and achieve strong business outcomes Produce end-user facing documentation for the IT community What You'll Bring To The Role 8+ years of hands-on development experience in Python Highly technical and passionate about programming and engineering Experience working as a developer on large-scale projects Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems Automation-driven mindset using Python or another scripting language Nice To Have Containerization experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm); knowledge of Azure and/or AWS Experience developing tools for build automation, version control (Bitbucket, GitHub), issue tracking (Jira), CI (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), automated testing, or deployment automation Java or another programming language Experience in an agile, globally distributed environment Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Curiosity to understand how systems work and why Monitoring and alerting Performance tuning and reliability engineering What You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence thatMorgan Stanley has defined for over 89 years.
