Job Description

Overview This position is remote anywhere in North America, with a preference for candidates located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Orlando, or Dallas/Fort Worth. The posted base salary range is $65,800.00 to $86,400.00 per year. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Jacobs supports a hybrid working policy, allowing a mix of onsite and remote work to deliver best performance. The role is within the Power System Studies area supporting renewable generation interconnection, utility scale studies, and related business development and proposal support.' What youll do (Responsibilities) Perform power system studies (internal to the plant) including, but not limited to, load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash and harmonics. Perform power system studies (external to the plant) related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements as well as NERC standards. Support system studies projects throughout the lifecycle (technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, to close-out). Contribute to the delivery of projects, delivering on time and to budget. Collaborate with team members across North America and globally. Work with different customer types including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs. Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE. Qualifications Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility-scale renewable projects. Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP and PSCAD or other equivalents. Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE and CIGRE. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results. Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability and willingness to travel within North America. Ideally, Youll Also Have Experience with systems studies in California and/or WECC. Experience with offshore wind and HVDC. Knowledge of programming languages to streamline studies using Python. Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) License.
