Summary We are seeking a talented Field Services Engineer to join our team. The Field Service Engineer (FSE) performs services on customer sites, including preventive and corrective maintenance, commissioning, installation supervision, and modification of Gutor UPS systems and batteries. The FSE works on both on- and off-shore sites and is the connection between the customer and Gutors Customer Service department. If hired, the candidate must be able to travel to Malaysia or Switzerland for a mandatory 6-week training. Main Responsibilities Perform installation supervision and commissioning of Gutor systems, including batteries. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for Gutor UPS equipment, including batteries. Diagnose UPS problems at customer sites and provide reports on issues. Identify and report failure modes encountered in the field and determine their causes. Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance of Gutor systems. Interact with customers by phone or in person; represent Gutor in addressing customer concerns. Promote Gutor services and products, including contracts, spare parts, preventive maintenance, modifications, and digital services. Keep databases updated with completed reports and documents. Perform work safely on site and ensure the safety of people and property. Identify leads and opportunities to help grow regional business for Gutor customers. Provide technical support as needed and assist other teams (sales, test bay, R&D). Support quality improvement through IQ software entries and other tools. Be on 24-hour standby on demand and pursue self-training on existing and new products. Evaluate warranty and goodwill claims. Required Qualifications Electrical technician with at least 3 years of field services experience (UPS) or equivalent. BS degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering or equivalent. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills; remote support experience with international customers. 35 years of related experience; strong knowledge of electronic theory to component level. Proficiency in PC tools, office applications, and networking; strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze complex problems, explain technical concepts clearly, and work independently. Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability; valid passport, drivers license, and TWIC card. Structured problem-solving approach with ability to seek support when needed; high level of professionalism and integrity; self-motivated. Preferred Qualifications Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese (written and spoken); ability to conduct technical conversations in these languages. Flexible, high-performance profile; ability to work independently and stay well organized. Position Type Full-time, non-exempt position. What We Offer Base salary range: $85,000$100,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. Paid holidays and 20 days of vacation. 401(k) plan with up to 6% company matching.
