Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the Project Controls Manager will be responsible for delivering successful project controls tasks for the Nuclear Island scope and supporting the companys estimating and construction teams to ensure that the project control system is properly implemented and utilized. This role reports to the Project Controls Director and supports the Nuclear Island scope, as well as the companys estimating and construction teams to ensure proper project control system implementation and utilization. What Youll Do Here Overall responsibility for projects compliance with Aecons Project Controls standards and applicable contract documents. Establish and maintain the projects integrated Project Controls systems; oversee the setting of cost and schedule baselines. Lead meetings focused on communicating project performance status to the wider project team. Lead a team of Project Controls staff specializing in planning, scheduling, cost control, change management and risk management. Support Project Managers in tracking overall project health; establish and maintain a communication plan to ensure accurate and timely flow of information. Provide input into the continuous improvement of Aecons Project Controls policies and guidelines. Oversee analysis and reporting of project performance metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI, key commodity tracking); propose corrective actions and provide timely alerts on adverse trends. Implement and maintain an Earned Value Management plan to measure project performance, identify variances, and inform accurate forecasting. Lead development of project-specific Project Controls plans and the development & implementation of project-specific change management plans. Provide support to Commercial & Procurement teams on subcontractor and client claims development, negotiations and dispute resolutions. Provide commercial and technical input to proposal development and contract-defined project control requirements. Ensure adherence to all contract conditions regarding Project Controls requirements, project setup, monitoring and close-out. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with client counterparts and joint venture stakeholders where applicable. Promote and maintain a safe, open and respectful workplace culture; provide guidance for annual goal setting and development plans; conduct performance reviews and manage improvement plans as needed. Participate in project-level resource planning, utilization analysis, and staffing forecasts; lead project-level recruitment for Project Controls resources. Lead meetings focused on communicating project performance status to the wider project team. What You Bring To The Team 10-15 years of related experience. Demonstrated analytical and adaptive thinking. Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management post-secondary degree. Strong team collaboration and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality. Agility and flexibility in a dynamic environment; innovative problem-solving skills. Leadership experience in high-performing teams; stakeholder management experience; strategic orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE). Cost management or estimating systems expertise (e.g., Hard Dollar, EcoSys, PRISM). Mandatory nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment; background and security checks will be conducted, with Bruce Power security clearance strongly preferred.
