Irving group of companies Relocation costs (if applicable) Responsibilities Work with the Operation & Maintenance teams to understand/scope out work requests Complete associated administrative requirements with each work order using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Strong mechanical aptitude and skills Understands how to read P&IDs / Piping Diagrams and other technical documents Understanding of process and steam piping and its regulations Install piping and associated systems, maintain to perform as designed for equipment to operate Working knowledge of all types of pipe fittings and connection methods Drive to become a site leader for piping related issues and solutions Know the importance and relevance of solid preventative maintenance practices as it relates to piping system Manage employees and contractors for shutdowns and project work including periodic contact with vendors and suppliers for equipment information Qualifications Red Seal Steam Fitter / Gas Fitter Experience in the following areas is considered an asset: Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment Previously completed professional apprenticeship Hydraulic (hoses and fittings), Tig and Stick, Stainless steel & aluminum welding, fabrication, lockouts, break in work, instrumentation (control valves) Proven track record of working safely at all times Strong commitment to ongoing learning and development Highly developed communications skills (verbal and written) Strong proficiency or willingness to work with computers (i.e. MS Office) Effective interpersonal skills, especially between work teams Ability to assess and prioritize daily work for execution as per job estimating Possess effective time management skills Knowledge of continuous improvement practices in a dynamic environment Ability to make decisions that align to mill policies and procedures About Us Founded in 1882, J.D.
